ABOUT GREE AND SOME OF OUR HISTORY

Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai was founded in 1991. It is an international air conditioning enterprise which has integrated R&D, manufacturing, marketing and service. It takes “Master of Core Technology” as the business concept and “To build a centenary enterprise” as the development target. It is leading the industry with its excellent product quality, advanced technologies and unique sales mode. So far, it has developed three brands, namely GREE, TOSOT and KINGHOME, with a wide product range which includes residential air conditioners, central air conditioners, air source water heaters, TOSOT home appliances, Kinghome refrigerators, etc.

In 2012, Gree became the first listed electrical appliances enterprise in China with sales revenue over 100 billion yuan (about 16 billion USD). On April 27, 2015, Gree released its 2014 performance report, which shows that it has achieved sales revenue of 140.005 billion yuan (about 22.9 billion USD) in 2014 with net profit of 14.155 billion yuan (about 2.32 billion USD), an increase of 16.63% and 30.22% respectively compared with the same period of 2013. In 2014, Gree Online Mall was launched officially.

Gree is the only one manufacturer in Chinese HVAC industry that is honored as a “World Brand”. Its business spreads to more than 160 countries and regions. Today Gree’s annual production capacity of RAC and CAC are more than 60 million sets and 5.5 million sets respectively. Since 2005, Gree has topped No.1 in production and sales volume for 10 consecutive years, with over 300 million users all across the world. In May 2015, Gree entered into the world’s top 500 public companies, ranking No. 385 in Forbes Global 2000 and No. 1 in household appliances industry section.

Gree is committed to providing global users with high-tech and high quality products. Nowadays, Gree has 9 production bases around the world, 7 are located in China, another 2 in Brazil and Pakistan, with more than 70,000 employees.

Gree RAC and CAC products are classified into 20 categories, 400 series and over 127000 models, which satisfy demands for all market segments. With more than 15600 technology patents, including 5000 invention patents, Gree has achieved a series of “world leading” products that have shaped the development of the industry, such as the self-developed magnetic suspension centrifugal compressor and chiller, photovoltaic direct-driven inverter centrifugal chiller, 2-stage inverter compressor, rare-earth free inverter compressor, R290 eco-friendly air conditioner, 1Hz inverter air conditioner, multi-functional floor heating central air conditioner, permanent magnet synchronous inverter centrifugal chiller, ultra-low temperature digital VRF and so on.

Gree has won the bidding for many international projects, including 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, “2010 FIFA World Cup” in South Africa, 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, which have significantly improved Gree brand awareness throughout the world, leading the revolution from “Made in China” to “Created in China”.
